Mr. Plankey was a native of Scarsdale, NY; a son of the late William A. Plankey and Viola I. Plankey. He lived most of his life in Russell, MA but moved to the Augusta area 30 years ago. He was a veteran who served in the 8th Air Force in England during WWII. He was an ardent sports fan who loved hunting and fishing. Mr. Plankey retired from Deerfield Specialty Paper Co. in Augusta as vice- president of manufacturing. He was a life member of the VFW, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended Health Central for many years.
