Tax Dollars Shouldn't Fund Gay Pride

Summary


Edmund Burke, an 18th-century political theorist and philosopher, said: "The true danger is when liberty is nibbled away, for expedients, and by parts. ... The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." I fear that is exactly what is happening in our country today and I am one man that cannot, in good conscience, allow it to happen without at least speaking up.

As I drove through the gate at Savannah River Site last week, the first thing I saw was a flashing sign reminding site employees that June was Gay Pride Month. Everyone was invited to attend the "celebration" from noon to 1 p.m. June 14. The sitewide e-mail that was sent to all employees promoted the event as some kind of "diversity" enlightenment. In fact, it had nothing to do with diversity, but was rather a blatant promotion of a lifestyle that I consider unnatural, and my Christian faith teaches is downright sinful.
