In Shaq's Big Challenge, (9 p.m. Tuesdays on television station WJBF, Channel 6) basketball great Shaquille O'Neal takes six overweight middle schoolers and designs a program, based on eating more healthfully and being more physically active, to help improve the pupils' bodies and minds.

The reason: Being overweight or obese isn't just about wearing larger clothes. Being obese or overweight can cause many heath problems, including asthma, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, orthopedic complications (when the bones and the cartilage do not have enough strength to support extra weight), and sleep apnea (when you stop breathing during sleep).
