Thank you for your recent editorial regarding an unreasonable effort in Congress to force Olin Corp. to shut down one of our area's key employers ("Chemical overreaction," Aug. 24). Olin's Augusta plant means a lot to this community, and the pending legislation in Congress would hurt more than the 200 or so folks who work at the plant.
We are a vendor to the Olin plant. We have provided services there for many years. For our small business alone, a plant closure will cost six jobs and $200,000 in revenues. There are many other local vendors and small businesses that will suffer similar losses.
