Patron of Columbia's History Dies

Summary


COLUMBIA - Jennie Clarkson Dreher Hazlehurst, who led efforts to save several of the capital city's architectural treasures, died Thursday at her Columbia home. She was 90.

Declining health kept Ms. Hazlehurst at home recently, but for years she campaigned tirelessly to preserve the city's historic buildings and beauty. She died in her sun room, according to Dunbar Funeral Home.
