ATLANTA - The secretary of state's office is charged with overseeing elections, overseeing reams of paperwork, trying to prevent fraud and a host of other measures. To an extent, the two top Republican contenders have spoken to those issues.

But Fulton County Commission Chairwoman Karen Handel and state Sen. Bill Stephens, R-Canton, also have spent plenty of time talking about abortion, gay rights and loyalty to the Republican party in what has been a tough primary for the secretary of state nomination.
