CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Atlanta Falcons became the "Dead Team Walking" in the NFC South Sunday when the Carolina Panthers took control of the division with a 24-6 victory at Bank of America Stadium.

Atlanta - 7-5 with only one victory this year against a team with a winning record - desperately needed a victory to stay in the playoff picture. It failed to bring the same swagger that led to nine wins in the previous 10 games against the Panthers. This time, it was Carolina throwing all the punches and the Falcons barely put up a fight.
