Summary


Deputy Randy Boatright's partner had been retired for only about six weeks when he succumbed to cancer in his lungs, heart and spleen.

Schnapps, a 9-year-old German shepherd, was one of the original dogs to work in the Richmond County Sheriff's Office K-9 Task Force, which began in 2000. In that time, he had responded to 665 missions, helping deputies sniff for bombs and weapons.
