Janie Ruth Smith passed Thursday, June 10, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at the Simmon Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Alex Williams, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Robin Howard, Aiken, Sabrina (Milton) East, Graniteville, and Shunton Smith, Johnston; a son, Tony (Sonia) Smith, Graniteville; three sisters, Minnie (Alonzo) Abney, Betty (Michael) Key, both of Johnston, Mary (Richard) Clark, Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Leroy (Dorothy) Williams, Saluda, John (Irene) Williams, Heyward (Darlene) Williams, both of Aiken and Alfred (Patricia) Williams, Ridge Spring; a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Williams, New York and ten grandchildren.
