Mrs. Mary Ruth Davis

Summary


Mary Ruth Davis, 71, of Athens, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2006.

A native of Jefferson County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late John David, Sr. and Mary Swint Adams. Her brother J. D. Adams preceded her in death. She graduated from Wrens High School in 1953, received her Business Education Degree from the University of Georgia and taught at Commerce High School from 1957-1962. Mrs. Davis left her teaching career for the honor and privilege of taking care of her mother, Mrs. Mary Adams. Mrs. Davis was able to capture the beauty of God's creation both on canvas with her paintings, and in flower arranging. She was active with the Town & County Garden Club for over 40 years where she held several different offices. She was a member of the Prince Avenue Baptist Church since 1961, where she was a member of the WMU, sang in the church choir and worked with the GA's.
