Mrs. Laura McCuen Lokey, age 92, entered into rest on Wednesday, March 14th , 2007, at University Hospital. She was born August 28th, 1914 to Roy and Mary McCuen in Anderson, SC. She was a graduate of Tubman Girls' High School, in Augusta, GA. In 1936 she married Warren C. Lokey of Augusta, GA.
She lived most of her life in Augusta. Mrs. Lokey was an active member of St. John United Methodist Church, the Eakes/Sells Bible Class, and a lifetime member of United Methodist Women. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Lokey's favorite times were spent among family and friends. She adored and was adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed social events with her friends from St. John Church, St. John Towers and Kentwood, shopping and traveling.
