Mrs. Joan Avery of Kentucky Avenue entered into rest Monday, February 16, 2004 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Clarence Moore officiating. The funeral procession will leave 1652 Kentucky Avenue at 10:20 a.m. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Avery leaves to cherish her memory, four sons, Herbert Randy (Carla) Harris, Alphonza (Tammy) Harris, Kirk Avery, Michael Avery; two daughters, Linda Willis, Gloria (Christopher) Wright; four brothers, Robert Willis, Bobby Willis, Tommy Willis, McNeal Willis; three sisters, Ernestine Burton, Pecola Williams, Suzane Mitchell; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Marvin Clark and a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends.
