Acie McCullough, Sr., 82, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Wellstar Hospital in Austell, GA.
Acie was born September 17, 1924 in Waynesboro, Georgia, to Clarence and Oletha McCullough. He attended the Burke County Schools, and at the age 70, returned to continue his education through the adult literacy program. He was employed by Air Liquide (formerly Liquid Air & Nitrogen), where he retired after more than 30 years of service. A craftsman at heart, Acie continued to work following retirement as a Master Barber in the Waynesboro, GA community. He was a member of the Phillip Grove Baptist Church, once pastored by his father Clarence. Although active in church activities, Acie is most known for having served on the Deacon Board for four decades. In 1944, Acie wedded Mamie Lee Smith, and to this union were born 10 children.
