Summary
Having been a veteran in the Army from 1965 to1968, and working at Fort Gordon for civil service for the past 34 years, I have a suggestion for everyone in the CSRA to assist our military personnel at Fort Gordon. As you all know, our soldiers put their lives on the line every day to keep America free. I have watched many of my soldiers go to Iraq since 2001 - and some have not come back - to do what they do best: put their lives on the line for every American, and try to rid us from these evil countries. I watched a news segment recently on television where a small town in the state of Washington donated money and raised $15,000 for all of the military from their city, to assist their families with their financial situations. Some of you people in the CSRA do not realize that a private first class only makes about $1,500 a month, and perhaps has a family of two or three, whereas they were making $3,000 a month in civilian life, before Sept. 11, 2001. This is a hardship on them.
I will make a donation to Fort Gordon to see if they can start a fund for these soldiers. I encourage everyone in the CSRA to do the same.See the full content of this document
