WARNER ROBINS, Ga.- There's a spot in Houston County where, 140 years ago, Union soldiers held Jefferson Davis and his wife prisoner after the defeat of the Confederacy.

Now, some Civil War buffs are hoping the state approves a historical marker for the place where the former president of the Confederacy and his captors camped, just off what is now Georgia Highway 247 near Sandy Run Creek.
