TOKYO - Toyota Motor Corp. Chairman Hiroshi Okuda said Tuesday that he believes General Motors Corp. will likely receive support from the U.S. government if it faces further trouble. But the U.S. automaker denied it.

"I have the feeling that GM is in a difficult situation," Mr. Okuda was quoted as saying by Hisako Komai, a spokeswoman for the Nippon Keidanren, Japan's most influential business lobby.
