Summary
Contrary to The Chronicle's editorial ("DeLay makes the right decision," Jan. 10) that former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is the victim of partisan politics, it is what he brought on himself. He is the living example of the saying "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
He brought a whole new dimension to corruption. To make himself more powerful, he engineered the gerrymandering of the electoral districts in Texas, thereby creating more Republican seats.
