Entered into rest Saturday, March 13, 2004 at Doctors Hospital at the age of 76 Col. Darrell Fred Rishel. Col. Rishel was born in Alexandria, Pa. and lived the past 11 years in Augusta, Ga.

During a long and distinguished career as a helicopter pilot in the Army he achieved the rank of Colonel. He received his Doctor of Education at Penn State University. He was an accomplished musician, playing most recently with The Augusta Jazz Project. Col. Rishel served as a deacon for the First Christian Church of Augusta.
