HANNIBAL, Mo. - Talk about a cheap gift - a couple is giving the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum a law ledger belonging to the Tom Sawyer author's father that was discovered in a box of dusty materials bought from the county years ago for 50 cents.
During today's celebration of Twain's birthday, Frank and Donna Salter will present the law ledger from the office of John Marshall Clemens, father of Sam Clemens, better known as Mark Twain.
