Col. Johnson was born October 29, 1921 in Durham, NC, the son of Eva May Morgan Johnson and Edwin P. Johnson. Col. Johnson entered the United States Army during World War II and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He also served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
