Reacting to growing violence in schools nationwide, the Richmond County Board of Education has pledged to put "panic buttons" in every classroom in the district by next year.
Already, 33 of 58 schools have the call-in buttons, which allow teachers to alert front-office personnel to a problem and talk to them over a speaker.
