Summary
Regarding the Vatican's new edict tightening the rules for Mass: Thank God that the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in Rome and in this country is again exerting moral leadership in regards to the expectations of the church's clergy and laity.
The Catholic Church's teaching on the reception of the sacrament of the Eucharist is that it is a share of the one sacrifice of Christ, the reception of the body, blood, soul and divinity of the risen Christ, and a sign of the individual's unity with the Catholic Church. This means not only unity in a personal, individualistic way with Jesus Christ, but unity in a communal and integral way with the bishop of Rome, all other bishops in union with him and local pastors, not to mention the doctrines and dogmas of the faith and morals of the Catholic Church.See the full content of this document
