Entered into rest Thursday, December 14, 2006, Chaplain (LTC) Roger G. Donathan, US Army, Retired, 75, beloved husband of the late Mary Fawn Russell Donathan.

Chaplain (Lieutenant Colonel) Donathan was a native of Poteau Oklahoma, and resided in Augusta since 1962. He received a Bachelors Degree in History from the University of Oklahoma, a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Masters of Education at Georgia Southern University. He also attended the US Army Chaplain School and was an honor graduate of the Command and General Staff College. He retired after 30 years of active and reserve service as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was injured in his service during the Korean Conflict. He served the early part of his military career with the US Air Force in pilot training. Chaplain (LTC) Donathan was a member of Grace Restoration Church and Hillcrest Baptist Church.
