Summary
Levi W. Hill III remembers Harry Jernigan calling him from University Hospital to ask him to serve on its board. When Mr. Hill confessed he didn't know much about hospitals, he was told, "There are two other fellas being nominated; you probably won't get it anyway."
More than 27 years later, he is still going to the board meetings as a chairman emeritus and helping guide the hospital through a massive renovation. He will be honored Thursday with the Georgia Hospital Association's Distinguished Service Award as it holds its annual meeting this week.See the full content of this document
