Board Cuts Positions From Budget Request

ATLANTA - The state is having trouble hiring people for its main environmental watchdog agency and could lose some positions as a result.

The recommendation to eliminate the positions was approved by the Board of Natural Resources on Wednesday as part of a budget recommendation sent to Gov. Sonny Perdue. Information provided by the Department of Natural Resources didn't detail exactly how many positions would be cut, but the move is expected to save more than $570,000.
