Mr. Lorise Burke, 81, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Screven County Hospital, Sylvania, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. at Simmons Branch Missionary Baptist Church, 200 Simmons Branch Road, Sylvania, Ga. Burial in Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Portal, Ga. Service of comfort entrusted to the care of Craig R. Tremble and Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dorothy Cunningham

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Lee Cunningham, who entered into rest on Monday, April, 23, 2007, at the age of 66, will be conducted this Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. at the Temple of Prayer and Deliverance Church, 1111 Florence St., Augusta, GA with Pastor Helen Turner officiating. Retired Sergeant First Class Thelmadge G. "Thomas" Simpson, age 83, husband of Mrs. Alice Moore Simpson, entered into rest Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 28, 2007 with the Reverend Jim Bailey officiating. Interment will be in Harlem Memorial Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside.

Ms. Philippa Denny

Philippa Denny, 84, resident of Louisville, died Sunday morning at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville. Ms. Denny was a native and lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was retired from Jefferson Electric Membership Corp. Ms. Denny was a member of the Jefferson County Historical Society, the John F. Wren Chapter National Society Daughters of American Revolution, and Dames of Magna Carta. She was a member of the Louisville United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Harrington, 75, entered into rest at her home on April 24, 2007. Mrs. Harrington was born in Oelwein, Iowa on July 19, 1932, and has lived in the Augusta area the past 34 years. Mrs. Gladys Mayers Long

Gladys Mayers Long, 83, widow of Willie Samuel Long, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center, Aiken. Mrs. Long was born in Mullins, S.C. She was a daughter of the late Mary Drew and Enoch Cleveland Mayers, Sr. She was a member of Harmony Hope Chapter #229 Order of The Eastern Star and Calvary Baptist Church.

The funeral services for Mr. William E.
