John David Conner, 65, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at his home in Barnwell. Mr. Conner was born in Barnwell on March 26, 1941. He was the son of the late Laurence Neuman Conner, Sr. and Alice Carswell Conner. He was a 1963 graduate of Clemson University. He had served on the Boards of the Federal Home Administration, The Gold Kist Corp. SC Farm Bureau, and the Barnwell County Vocational School. He was chosen as SC Young Farmer of the Year for 1976. Mr. Warren Stevie McZorn, 35, entered into rest on Monday, August 28, 2006 at Macon Medical Center. Warren was a 1988 honor graduate of T.W. Josey High School.

Mrs. Bobbie E. Shaffer

Bobbie E. Shaffer, 73, entered into rest Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Heartland Hospice. Mrs. Shaffer was a native of Edgefield, SC. She had lived in Augusta for the past fifty two years and was a member of Berean Baptist Church. Mrs. Shaffer was a graduate of Barrett School of Nursing and was a retired Registered Nurse with Georgia Regional Hospital.
