Mrs. Irmtraud Warren, age 73 passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Windemere Nursing Home. Born in Wintersheim Germany, Mrs. Warren had made Augusta, GA her home since 1974. She was of the Protestant faith. The cherished memories of her love, devotion and special times with her children and grandchildren will live on in their hearts.

Mrs. Luther B. King, 78, wife of the late Perkin King, Sr., of Mahafeey Circle, entered into rest on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mr. John Ward departed this life on July 27, 2006 at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Rocky Branch Baptist Church, Norwood, Georgia with the Rev. Leroy Hudson Officiating.

James R. Hall, age 69, of Twin City, GA died on Monday, July 31, 2006. Funeral services are Wednesday, August 2nd, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary. Interment will be in the Twin City City Cemetery.

Talmadge Griffin, 75, a resident of Canton, Ga., passed away August 1, 2006 at the Vista Care Hospice Center, Atlanta after a lengthy illness. Mr. Griffin had resided in Lake City for the past 34 years and had just recently moved to Canton, Ga. He was a veteran of the Korea and Vietnam having served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 years. Mr. Marvin Burke, Jr.

Mr. Marvin "MJ" Burke, Jr., age 67, of Oxford, Ga., died Monday, July 31, 2006. He was born in Jenkins, Ga. (Millen) on August 19, 1938 to the late of Marvin Burke, Sr. and Florrie Wilson Burke. Mr. Burke was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Ga., where he taught Sunday school and occasionally led the music. He was a member of the Oxford Lions Club for 24 years and a member of the Stone Mountain Baptist Association's Disaster Relief Feeding Unit since 1995.

Mrs. Irene Clark Ward, 94, formerly of 523 Rachael Street, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 at North Augusta Health Care. The funeral will be held at First Metropolitan Baptist Church, Augusta, Ga., with the Rev. Enoch Ward, Jr. officiating at 11:00 a.m., Friday August 4, 2006. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. William Eugene Hollingsworth, 87, husband of 69 years to Mrs. Carrie Sue Lyon Hollingsworth, entered into glory Sunday, July 30, 2006 from Doctors Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at Believers Gospel Chapel with Mr. Dan Hollingsworth, Mr. David Hollingsworth, Dr. Kenneth Reeves officiating. Mr. Andy Scott will officiate at the interment in Westview Cemetery.

Marian Lucile Lovinggood Colclough, age 88, of Penfield died on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at Winter Park Rehabilitation Center in Florida. Graveside services will be held Friday August 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Penfield Cemetery with Rev. David Jordan officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
