Funeral services will be held this Thursday, (today) at 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro with Doctor Al Wright and Doctor Charles G. Green officiating. Interment will follow in the McIntyre Baptist Church Cemetery in McIntyre, GA.
Mr. Douglas W. Usry Retired Master Sgt. U.S. Army
Mr. Douglas W. Usry age 69, husband of Betty Usry, entered into rest at Doctors Hospital on Monday May 29, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 1, 2006 at Platt's Belair Rd. Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Gregg Usry officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Miss Virginia Hallman, who taught two generations of Augustans to read and write at the Monte Sano School, died Tuesday after a brief illness. She was 89 years old. Miss Hallman was born in Augusta and lived her entire life at her family's home on Walker Street. She graduated from the Tubman School, then a high school for girls; and Augusta College. She began teaching at John Milledge Elementary School in 1938.
Mrs. Rebecca W. Anderson of Arcadia Court, entered into rest on May 26, 2006 at University Hospital. Funeral service will be held today, Thursday, June 1, 2006 at 3 P.M. from Greater Mt. Canaan Baptist Church of which Rev. Victor Thomas is pastor with Rev. Nathaniel Irvin officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olive Memorial Gardens.
A homegoing celebration for Rev. Lessel Leonard will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Macedonia Baptist Church with Dr. Gregory M. Fuller officiating. Rev. Mrs. Nellie Pearl Hall Retired Restaurant Owner
Entered into rest Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at St. Joseph Hospital, Mrs. Nellie Pearl Hall of David St. Mrs. Nellie Pearl (Gough) Hall was born August 19, 1920 to the late Anne and Henry Gough and she attended school in Burke County. She lived in Burke County until she relocated to Augusta, Ga. in March 1960. She was converted and baptized at a an early age at Second Hopeful Baptist Church, Burke County.

Ms. Donna J. Kivett, 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at University Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced.
Mrs. Nonie B. Johnson, 370 Oak Grove Rd., Sandersville, died on Saturday, May 28, 2006 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. from the Oak Grove Baptist Church, Sandersville with Rev. Gerald Smith officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Funeral services for Mr. Norman Mitchell, Sr. will be held on Friday, June 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel, Louisville. Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the Georgia Veteran memorial Cemetery, Milledgeville. Survivors include his wife, Christine Mitchell; six children, eleven siblings, five grandchildren, a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Stephen S. Seman, age 59 entered into rest May 29, 2006, husband of Becky Seman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deanna Ranlett of Atlanta, GA; a son, Isaac Seman and his fianc e, Holly Welch; two sisters, Cynthia DeLong and Deborah Odom. He has a beloved grandson, Tyler Isaac Seman who was the sunshine in "Pap Pap" life. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa and never gave up on the "Steelers".
Mrs. Ora M. Griffin, wife of Mr. Marion D. Griffin, Jr. entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of the late Mamie Lee Munns McKie and Robert L. Munns, Sr. and the stepdaughter of George McKie, daughter-in-law of Marile (Polly) Griffin and the late Marion D. Griffin, Sr.
Ms. Theresa Carroll, of Edwards Dr., entered into rest Monday, May 29, 2006 at her residence. The Funeral Mass and Prayer Vigil will be celebrated this evening at 7:00 p.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Cherian Thalakulam celebrant.
