Funeral services for Mr. James U. Milton, age 70, husband of Annette Lawrence Milton, of 117 Lawrence St., who passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Beech Island, with Rev. Raiford Roundtree officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Jackson. Mr. Milton will be placed in the church Saturday at 12 Noon for viewing.
Mrs. Juanita Widner Retired Board of Education
Mrs. Lizzie Juanita Winder died at home Wednesday August 31, 2005. She was born in Screven County on February 9, 1929 to the late Manuel and Lizzie Maebell Howard Williams. She retired from the Burke County Board of Education where she worked as a bus driver and lunch room administrator. She was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church and the Sardis UMC Senior Group.
Graveside Services for Mr. William J. "Bill" Miller, Jr., 73, of Clay Court, North Augusta, SC, who died August 30, 2005, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the Hillcrest Memorial Park. Father C. Alexander McDonald officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Friday evening from 6 to 8.

Effie Helen James Vinson, 77, of 2627 Old Whiteoak Rd. Dearing, Ga. entered into rest September 01, 2005 at University Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Bill Vinson . Mrs. Vinson was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and was the daughter of the late Marion James and the late Effie Johnson James . She was a homemaker and a member of Dearing United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Geraldine Rich, age 50, wife of W.L. Rich, died Wednesday. Funeral services will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. Also surviving are her children, Sonia Burns, Kevin and D.J. Rich; sisters, Cherry Wilkerson and Terrie Averett; five grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Joseph Calvin Gay, 72, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Mr. Gay was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and played football for the Air Force.
