Lance Corporal Michael Phillip Scarborough, of Pembroke Dr., died Saturday, October 30, 2004 in Fallujah, Iraq, in the Iraq War. Lance Corporal Scarborough was born in Athens, Ga. and had lived in Washington for 18 years. He was a U.S. Marine, a member of the NRA and a member of the Marine Corp Association.

Karen Boozer died Friday, October 29, 2004 at University Hospital. She is survived by two children, Ronnie Boozer, Jr. and Erica Boozer; one daughter-in-law, Erica F. Frances Marion Day Tuyls, 84, of Port Royal, S.C., and formerly of Savannah, Ga., died Saturday, October 30, 2004, at the Helena House in Port Royal, S.C. She was born in Farmington, Mo., on February 26, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin L. Tuyls; son, Robert L. Tuyls; father, Arnold S. Day; mother, Flausie A. Day; grandson, Gerry A. Davis; sister, Alice D. White; brothers, Orman G. Day and Kermit H. Day.
Funeral services for Mr. Wayne E. Leach, 63, who died Sunday, October 31, 2004 will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church. Burial in the church cemetery. Survivors include his companion, Kathy Sibley; daughters, Lanette Drennan, Michele Gable, Rhonda Chitwood and son, Michael Wayne Leach. McCommons Funeral Home is in charge.

Miss Frances Hammock, 65, of 4136 Windsor Spring Road, Hephzibah, Georgia entered into rest Monday, November 1, 2004 at Doctors Hospital. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Miss Hammock was a native of Atlanta, Georgia, but had lived in Augusta most of her life. She was retired from Murray Biscuit Co. with 39 years service in quality controls. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
